- Lê Đình Chung
dzo painting Lê Đình Chung biography Born in 1990, Lâm Đồng, currently lives and works in Đắk Nông, Vietnam, Lê Đình Chung (aka. Lê Đ.Chunh) graduated from Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts University in 2015. Working across painting, installation, sculpture, video, and performance, Chung’s multidisciplinary practice engages with both everyday realities and layered historical narratives. Rooted in the Central Highlands (formerly designated as “New Economic Zones” during the post-war renovation era), where he was born and spent his childhood, Lê Đ.Chunh’s practice has long been shaped by the region’s spiritual culture, oral traditions, micro-histories, and its rapid transformation under exploitation. He explores shifting social and political landscapes through the lens of personal memory. His work unfolds within this terrain of tension—between remembrance and erasure, resilience and rupture—as well as navigates contradictions and the complexities of ongoing reality, along with the enigmatic descent of unresolved motifs and meanings from the past. works This artist currently has no available work at Manzi works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2023 40 x 60 cm color pigment on dzo paper Enquire works Untitled LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 40 x 60 cm color pigments on dzo paper Enquire works Untitled LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 40 x 60 cm color pigments on dzo paper Enquire works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 40 x 30 cm oil on dzo paper Enquire works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 40 x 30 cm oil on dzo paper Enquire works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 40 x 30 cm oil on dzo paper Enquire works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 70 x 60 cm oil on dzo paper Enquire works FOLLOWING THE WALLS WE FOUND THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 80 x 60 cm color pigment on dzo paper Enquire works Untitled LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2024 60 x 80 cm color pigment on dzo paper Enquire works Following the walls we found the electric generator series LÊ ĐÌNH CHUNG 2023 - - Summer Grasses
Bàng Nhất LinhA solo show by BÀNG NHẤT LINH 20.10 - 05.11.2018 Summer Grasses - November 5, 2018 October 20, 2018 Bàng Nhất Linh “Summer grasses, All that remains Of soldiers' dreams” - Basho This is the 6th project and 5th solo show by Linh. After the show in Hanoi, the work is to be exhibited in Saigon, as a part of a dual exhibition - a collaboration of Bang Nhat Linh and Wu Chi-Tsung - a Taiwanese artist, hosted by MotPlus(*) ‘Summer grasses’ is Linh’s most recent work - an installation artwork which revisits and references his previous unexhibited work - ‘Hero’. ‘Hero’ created out from 2010 to 2012 was inspired by the famous naval Battle of Bach Dang - one of the greatest victories in Vietnamese war history. The artwork focuses on a large 8.5m model which was created to be just as a fragment from a Chinese battleship would appear, hanging suspended on wooden stakes, to evoke an illusion for the viewer of standing in the river bed. However, the project remained created yet unexhibited for many reasons and has existed in creation and concept for the artist alone. The installation illuminates the famous poem entitled ‘Nam Quốc Sơn Hà’ - The Country in the South (**) written in light and shadow, whilst we observe a forsaken project, through the objects shown and seen, though seemingly common and natural at first glance they repose within a situational irony...stories within stories… all set in idyllic surroundings filled and juxtaposed with a rhythmic yet melancholy atmosphere – as in their namesake Haiku poem by Basho. *‘Nam Quốc Sơn Hà’ - ‘The Country in the South’ (Chinese characters: 南國山河): This anonymous poem is one of the best known literature pieces in Vietnamese history. Written in a form of classical Chinese poetry called seven-character-quatrain (a form of regulated verse with four lines of seven characters each), it is known as ‘The Very First Declaration of Vietnam’s Independence’. Legend describes that the poem was read aloud to divinities before and during battles to boost troops morale when Vietnam fought against the invasion from the North as long ago as the 10th Century AD. The show is part of Manzi's Art Programme supported by the Embassy of Denmark. ARTWORKS GALLERY OPENING NIGHT See more about artist(s) Bàng Nhất Linh

sketch Nguyễn Phương Linh biography Phuong Linh was born and raised at Nha San Studio – the first non-profit studio for experimental art in Vietnam. She has been absorbed in an artistic environment by living among and working with many of the most respected contemporary artists of the Vietnamese art scene. She has demonstrated a deep understanding and involvement in the local art community both as an artist and an art organiser. Phuong Linh’s works are sensual, poetic, fragmented, humble and exalted. Her work contemplates upon the visible and invisible truths, form and time and conveys a pervasive sense of dislocation. They concern stories that have been forgotten or buried or things that are so insignificant that they never reach our subconscious. Phuong Linh has participated in various exhibitions and art projects in Vietnam, Asia, Europe and the US. In 2012 she presented the project ‘Home’ in the exhibition ‘Hinterlands’ at the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco. In 2013, she participated in the exhibition HIWAR for the ocassion of the 25th anniversary of Darat Al Funnun in Amman, Jordan and she showed at the 2016 Singapore Biennale. works This artist currently has no available work at Manzi works Line Study 1 NGUYỄN PHƯƠNG LINH 2015 26.7 x 12.5 cm pigment ink on paper Enquire works Line Study 2 NGUYỄN PHƯƠNG LINH 2015 33 x 23 cm pigment ink on paper Enquire related Catching Faces Faint Traces the sky, the sand, the lashing waves following the stone wall and we found an electric generator 6𝒗➡️¹/² The world as a draft The Fifth Cardinal Direction Spatium 47 Days, Sound-less in spaces of everyscape, at time without end </3 Hồi Sóng Birdsong on our pathway vol. 4 Entrusted Conjectures Hanoi 1985 - 2015, In The Years Of Forgetting Then and Now, Hanoi streets in transition 'Neo-Romanticism' More than Human #1 Arca Noa no-think The Four Subjects A saga of unrealised projects The dreamer: heterotopia, tabula rasa, noble silence (a part of ongoing project 0395A.ĐC) Through the looking glass what's going on at Manzi Tình See more October 5, 2025 Tình See more October 4, 2025 Bắt mặt | Catching Faces See more October 4, 2025 Tình See more October 3, 2025 Artist Talk vs Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai See more September 27, 2025 Art Tour | Những Vệt Mờ / Faint Traces See more September 10, 2025 Những Vệt Mờ | Faint Traces See more September 6, 2025 Between the Strings See more August 5, 2025 sóng vỗ cát trời | the sky, the sand, the lashing waves See more August 1, 2025 Nguyên (âm) đơn See more July 20, 2025
- 'Neo-Romanticism'
Lê Quý Tông a new series of paintings by visual artist Lê Quý Tông 'Neo-Romanticism' - April 22, 2023 March 24, 2023 Lê Quý Tông Featuring twenty mixed-media works on canvas and paper, ‘Neo-Romanticism’ marked the return of Lê Quý Tông to manzi after over seven years since his solo show titled ‘True Blue’ (2015) which saw the beginning of his on-going experiment with a ‘input hybrid’ of painting, decorated pattern and found imagery. Along with the participation of a new technique - screen printing in the artist’s practice, this comeback also sees a dramatic change in the color palettes: neither limited to monochromatic color schemes nor restrained in the deep, somber shades as in his previous series ‘True Blue’ and ‘True Gold’ . ‘Neo-Romanticism’ witnesses a bloom in a wide variety of colors, including both bold and subtle, fiery and dusky hues. Yet, what to expect beyond the new method and palette which got an air of Pop Art Style? Further than just the outer expansion in visual accomplishment, can we find any pole vaulting in the inner of this artist’s latest expedition? The first bar to jump over probably is the starting point of all Tông’s paintings - the photographic documentation . These images sourced from historical archives and mass media are easily accessible by an online image search engine. Rather than to intentionally select an image that would anchor his own composition and navigate the viewer’s perception, Lê Quý Tông randomly singles out a photo that he found intriguing as an input element; its original context is of very little significance. It varied from a reliable evidence of a momentous event influenced the course of history to a fragment of manipulative media & information / a dishonest journalistic recording of a person or a conflict (in the past or in the present). The visual source can also be recognizable imagery of popular culture (such as Marvel Comics an Disney characters) or may be borrowed from some religious illustrative motifs and even some propaganda posters. Taken out of their original context, these visual elements once have been appropriated, reassembled together into something beyond space and time which ultimately can erase all boundaries and opposite sides of the initial narratives - no longer exists the enemy, invader & comrade, patriot; justice of war & injustice in war, righteousness & moral weight are all nonsense in the disturbed situation of ‘Neo-Romanticism’. ARTWORKS GALLERY _______________ Besides playing with the massive visual archives by deconstruction & collage, this new body of works by Lê Quý Tông confronts us with a series of new ‘KEYWORDS’ (that can be stated clearly in the form of letters, written texts or presented by figures, drawings) which are LOVE , HEART , ROMANTIC(ISM) , DREAMER , ACROBAT , YOUTH ,… These keywords, together with the overlapping lines, patterns and the bouncing colorful layers on the surface of canvas / paper, construct a particular aesthetic symbolism of the whole series. Then what we see is not ultimately the subjects to be interpreted. Instead, this system of symbols acts as an intermediary that stimulates our imagination and evokes our feelings, thus, thoughts and interpretations can be liberated from political, moral and cultural discourses. Departing from a very specific, prejudiced starting point (available photographic material), through a labor-intensive process of working on layers after layers in which the patience was constantly pushed to the end, the results presented in ‘Neo-Romanticism' are disordered and somewhat abstract reflections, yet in one way or another approaching closer to the essence of the original images / archived reality? Can we see more clearly now when the sight is disturbed, as Roland Barthes suggested in his final book ‘Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography’: “Ultimately — or at the limit — in order to see a photograph well, it is best to look away or close your eyes. 'The necessary condition for an image is sight,'Janouch told Kafka; and Kafka smiled and replied: 'We photograph things in order to drive them out of our minds. My stories are a way of shutting my eyes.” From this perspective, the art practice by Lê Quý Tông offers us a way “to shut our eyes” , and therefore, enable us to resist the dominance and manipulation of the visual information in our chaotic modern age. This also proposes a liberation for Tông himself, in a role of an artist, as a creator of new and an interpreter of the past; he can finally free himself out of the conundrum to justify and represent the questioned-by-him reality, time, history, and memories,.... as in the series ‘True Blue’. With ‘Neo-Romanticism’ the artist has put on a pair of spiritual wings, youthful, audacious; he now embraces both life (past and present) and human beings as a tangle of reality and illusion, passion and brutality, authenticity and violence. Such a bold move, though resulting in a new demanding task imposed on the artist: he must maintain the balance constantly, try not to fall into either side: prophetic pessimism on one hand or tremendous optimism on the other. The situation now is comparable to Lê Quý Tông’s own painting in which we see an acrobat, a dreamer who strives to keep on dreaming while knowing that he is dreaming. silk Nguyễn Thị Hồng Khanh biography Born in 1996, graduated in 2019 from Ho Chi Minh University of Fine Arts (Silk painting major), Nguyen Thi Hong Khanh is one of outstanding young talent among Southern emerging artists. While Intensely lyrical in classical figurative style of Eastern silk painting, Hong Khanh’s artworks have an air of contemporary illustration, with a playful touch of manga & anime art influences. The characters in her paintings, mostly either young ladies or small children, are often placed into a vague fictional surroundings with a glimpse of the familiar boring urban landscapes. These human figures, though seemingly allien like the outsiders yet not lonely, are presented in the most pure configuration, as they are trying to interact with few remained elements of the nature world such as a small honeybee, beetles, a fragile butterfly, blooming flowers, and the sunlight, the dew… Skillful handling the silk material, exquisite taste of vivid color scheme, subtle feminine aesthetic senses, Hong Khanh has been building her own path of art practice, worth expecting in the future. works This artist currently has no available work at Manzi works S i l e n c e NGUYỄN THỊ HỒNG KHANH 2023 65 x 100 cm watercolor on silk Enquire works Still NGUYỄN THỊ HỒNG KHANH 2023 65 x 80 cm watercolor on silk Enquire related Catching Faces Faint Traces the sky, the sand, the lashing waves following the stone wall and we found an electric generator 6𝒗➡️¹/² The world as a draft The Fifth Cardinal Direction Spatium 47 Days, Sound-less in spaces of everyscape, at time without end </3 Hồi Sóng Birdsong on our pathway vol.
- Water Flows Rock Erodes
Sto LenOpen Studio by STO LEN 01.10 - 21.10.2016 Water Flows Rock Erodes - October 21, 2016 October 1, 2016 Sto Len Titled 'Nước Chảy Đá Mòn', the open studio by print and performance artist Sto Len invites visitors to observe his practice, have a chat, get their own hands dirty and see his latest body of work produced both in Hanoi and New York. Sto captures (un)expected moments of beauty in the form of monoprints following Japanese Suminagashi (floating ink) marbling methods which he has tweaked over the last years to fit his own practice in which much is left to chance and the process of going with the flow and seeing what happens is an intangible aspect of the finished pieces. To create monoprints that will never be replicated in quite the same way, he prepares bodies of water from all kinds of sources, adds an assortment of paint and invites the surrounding space to add whatever speckles of dust, bugs or grit it can spare, lets all of it stew, waits, plays with the result, might wait some more and eventually places a piece of paper on the resulting surface to visually capture the collaboration of the artist with whatever space he is producing in. Just as memories are given meaning in hindsight, Sto checks in with what he has picked out of the water to see what his catch of the day is and decide whether it was what he was hoping for. In Vietnam Sto will be continuing his recent body of work of printing on old maps and posters - a ‘collaboration’ that unsettles the seeming rigidity and authority of cartography and official information. He will also be producing his ‘natural waste’ prints - having realised that he can employ his printing technique in the soiled waterways of New York he has been experimenting with pulling prints of poisonous beauty out of them and is looking to do the same in the many bodies of water in Hanoi and it’s surrounding Visitors are invited to experience his creative process fully and to return multiple times to witness the body of work grow and see what worked and what didn’t. *The Vietnamese proverb “Nuoc Chay Da Mon”, which directly translates to “Water Flows Rock Erodes”, is employed both to encourage patience and a reminder that change is gradual, inevitable and happens through consistency upheld over a long period of time. - No & Meaning
Nguyễn Minh ThànhA solo exhibition by NGUYỄN MINH THÀNH 09.12.2017 - 08.01.2018 No & Meaning - January 8, 2018 December 9, 2017 Nguyễn Minh Thành In collaboration with Art Vietnam Gallery, manzi art space presents 'No & Meaning' - the solo show marking Minh Thanh's return after half a decade. Long known in the art community for his thoughtful, introspective musings of self, Thanh presents his life in all its simplicity and honesty. After 10 years of seclusion living a solitary, meditative life in the hillside of Dalat, Thanh has reduced his art to a simple expression of his happiness. As the artists says, "Before, when the beauty appears, I feel happy. Now, when I am happy, the beauty appears". ARTWORKS GALLERY ARTIST STATEMENT --- "No " means nothing. "Meaning " means there is something that could be understood in our mind. In the world of thought, the word "no" has almost no value. If we put these two words together, we have a word that most people are afraid of: "no meaning" or "meaningless". People only care about meaningful words, something that makes sense....but in the world of beauty, it's different, the beauty is transferred to our eyes by space. The word "no", besides the negative or denial meaning, also means "space". If there is no space, there is truly nothing then. Then we also can say that we can only feel the true beauty when there is nothing happening in our mind. For a period of time, I practiced observing my thoughts and realized that most of them were trash. Then I let them go. They were truly my sorrow and the very thoughts which were meaningless while I misled myself from one thought to another. Certainly while I am writing this down I have to think, thanks for that! Life will be much more beautiful if we only use our thinking when it is truly necessary. Recently in my paintings, I paint whatever I feel like, no subject, no idea, no concept, no idealism... I paint as if I am learning how to paint. Before, when the beauty appears, I feel happy. Now, when I am happy, the beauty appears. The reason for this difference is that my mind was occupied too much by my thoughts. Thinking and ideas are the very things that make our life complicated and also ruin Art. Visual art now is corrupted because of too much thought. I overheard that Friedrich Nietzsche once said: "you have a purpose, but if you are disabled, even if you can reach your purpose, you are still disabled". Our civilization now is disabled, because most people are living by their thoughts and so few people realize that. Meaning belongs to our thoughts, but beauty doesn't, it belongs to our eyes and our hearts. People are magnifying their thoughts bigger and bigger and then they forget their senses. If life becomes meaningless, it will be so terrifying. But if people know how to let go of their thoughts, that frightfulness will be gone. We will have a life as it should be as itself or as it is, with no dilemma of what is so called meaning or meaningless. And that is life, which is full of feeling, full of love and simplicity. Then our wisdom will grow, then people will have enough energy to be able to step forward and reach beyond the limit of time and matter. That is what I see and I wish my paintings will be seen in that way. - Nguyễn Minh Thành - December 2017 OPENING NIGHT See more about artist(s) Nguyễn Minh Thành

Phạm Khắc QuangA solo exhibition by PHẠM KHẮC QUANG 18.01 - 09.03.2019 In Vitra + - March 9, 2019 January 18, 2019 Phạm Khắc Quang ‘In Vitra +' - a solo exhibition by Phạm Khắc Quang, one of the most proficient, diverse and established print artists in Vietnam today. Known for his evocative artworks with a strong personal narrative and connection finding beauty in what others could perceive as the ordinary, in this exhibition, Quang does not offer complex conceptual solutions from the mind of the Artist but an in-depth study and creation of a pioneering process and technique where the Artist tests their capability beyond common bounds. 'In Vitra +' - Quang's fourth solo exhibition shows a body of work created from an ambition to focus solely on his technique and a subversion of the traditional printing technique whilst having the ability to have rest from the creative quest for a defining concept. ARTWORKS GALLERY ‘In Vitra+’ A Solo Exhibition by Pham Khac Quang Bài viết cho triển lãm của Claire Driscoll The choice of medium for an artist is often a combination of personal passion for a technique and process, combined with dedicated direction from an influential teacher or mentor. Print called the most clearly of all practices to PhạmKhắc Quang, who has established himself as one of Vietnam’s most proficient, diverse and established printers, he creates evocative artworks with a strong personal narrative and connection; finding beauty in what others could perceive as the ordinary. In Vitra +, Phạm Khắc Quang’s fourth solo exhibition shows a body of work created from an ambition to focus solely on his technique and a subversion of the traditional printing technique whilst having the ability to have rest from the creative quest for a defining concept. The work you see here does not pretend to offer complex conceptual solutions from the mind of the Artist but is an in-depth study and creation of a pioneering process and technique where the Artist tests their capability beyond common bounds. The choice of medium can often define an Artist’s, work, practice and process - this is especially apparent for a printer. Preparation, testing, planning, technique, the pressure you must learn to apply consistently with both your hand and eye are of equal measure to the response you wish you evoke in your work. The life of a printer can be a complicated emotional response as the practitioner struggles through the definition of their own process before yielding a final result - with often disappointing results for the time laid down beforehand. In Vitra + is a model of Quang’s indomitable desire to make and create, dissatisfied with the constraints press printing can bring but married to the process and technique, Quang looked to deconstruct the material and processes to break away from traditional norms. Beginning with early experiments in ceramic Quang’s gaze moved to glass and stainless steel and he became convinced and fascinated by the possibility of printing onto new surfaces. A complex lonely discourse of sampling, trialing, broken glass, poor prints and bus journeys to use a kiln in another province contributed to the creation of the work you see here in Manzi. In Vitra + is an incomplete completion, a pause to reflect on the achieved new technique which will not only inform future projects but shows the result of an intensely involved and varied journey of discovery. The works here are created as more a body of completed sketches - a documented archive of a perfected technique – than final artistic solutions. More than 1500 hours of trials allowed Quang to progress to this point, hours filled with the discovery of working with an alien medium – glass/stainless steel - and the knowledge gained to create these pieces. Quang has found himself bound by a new set of constraints, a familiar concept to printers: the size of the kiln in which to fire the work, the viscosity of the pigment used to print onto new surfaces, the searing temperatures and the fragility of the glass combined with the interaction of the glass with the printing press, and the unforgiving surface of the metal. Phạm Khắc Quang has broken and recreated not just his technique but his vision and capability as a printer and redefined his role as a practitioner. Too often the printer as an Artist can be mistaken for that of an Artisan, this body of work stands defiant in the face of the supposition that the personal process of the Artist as maker is irrelevant. Nhung Nguyễn, Zach Scha sound installation by Nhung Nguyễn and Zach Sch Hồi Sóng - April 7, 2024 March 25, 2024 Nhung Nguyễn, Zach Sch HỒI SÓNG - A research and sound installation project by Nhung Nguyen & Zach Sch The second physical form presented at manzi Opening: 11.00 PM Monday 25 March 2024 On display: 11.00 AM - 07.00 PM (Tue - Sun) from 25 Mar until 07 Apr 2024 Art project “Hồi Sóng", consisting of archival study and sound installation by two Vietnam-based artists Nhung Nguyễn and Zach Sch, is available in both digital form at hoisong.art and physical form at Manzi Exhibition Space. From the original intent of exploring the intangible cultural heritage, specifically the oral history documented in the historical archives, the artist duo adopts sound installation as their medium to explore the relationships between archived information and sound arts. Originally and spanning from the topics centered around the lives of soldiers and workers imported from French colonies in Africa and Vietnam, the project extends to historical brushstrokes of the peoples from Egypt, Algeria, Mali, Martinique and Indochina (composed of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) and their wartime assignments, living conditions, their feelings and memories reminisced 60 years after the end of World War II. Accordingly, the installation work aims to juxtapose the archival materials from the said topics with music and sound designs. The artist duo assesses archives’ respective socio-cultural contexts and their attached literary and musical materials to architect the recordings. While Nhung focuses on the oral recordings, Zach places greater emphasis on sound experiments. Presented at manzi as a second physical counterpart to the online platform (the first installaition was launched at Sàn Art, HCMC in 2021), our display will offer a thrilling reboot of the archive inviting the audience to join us and tune in the sounds, immerse themselves in the radio installation and interact with artifacts of the dim and distant past hardly be told. ________________________ ❗ The project is supported by: The Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam Nguyen Thien Dao Foundation Sàn Art Humboldt University of Berlin ❗ 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 to our friends who have helped us during the research and production of this project: Nguyễn Khiếu Anh,Jonathan Mayers, Mai Phương ARTWORKS GALLERY OPENING NIGHT See more about artist(s)

- manzi art space | theatrical productions from New Backstage
A series of performance following the production phase of the project New Backstage (Tân Hậu Trường) First realizations... The first production of NEW BACKSTAGE 2025 Open studio: 7, 8, 9 Feb 2025 Overview The first production to launch New Backstage directed by an emerging talent, Bùi Thạc Phong is inspired by the play 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙢𝙖𝙣 by the renowned British-Irish playwright & filmmaker Martin McDonagh. In a forest where the line between reality and illusion blurs, three children have gone missing. Two have been proven deceased, while the other's fate is unknown. Katurian, a fairy tale writer who works in an animal slaughterhouse, becomes the prime suspect when the events in the crime cases are closely related to his writings. The conversation is interminable, alternating between four characters: two inspectors and two arrested. Six fairy stories entice, beguile, and reveal each character's cover-ups, falsehoods, torments and consolations, pasts and traumas. ... Production team & Cast DIRECTOR: BÙI THẠC PHONG (b. 2003) Currently a student majoring in Acting at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema, Phong has participated in many stage projects as an actor, as well as appeared in TV series and feature films. His production for New Backstage is his debut project as a theatrical director. "Six fairy stories are like the consolatory shelter to heal wounds, the bright zone to warm up the dark, but they can also distort reality. As it is difficult to forget past scars and accept reality, these people, after all, carry huge fears and traumas, thus deploy language, violence, power, and ideas to solve them, compensate for them, and escape... attempting to give their acts some sort of value, an alternative reality. However, they forget that in this reality, they are just exacerbating the vicious cycle. - excerpt from Director's Note intro + director CAST: Nguyễn Vũ (b. 2000) played the role of Katurian, the writer CAST: Hồng MA (b. 1985) played the role of detective Tulposki CAST: Đồng (b. 2002) played the role of detective Ariel CAST: Linh Trần (b. 1995) played the role of Michal - Katurian's sister PRODUCTION TEAM: Production: Khánh Như Translator: Phạm Minh Ánh, Nguyễn Minh Trang, Dương Diệu Linh Sound: Minh Trung Lighting: Thạc Đạt Editing: Phạm Đình Thiện Set design: Trung Dương Personal assistant to Mr. Hồng MA: Hà Taia nguoi-goi-showcase Public event The first production of NEW BACKSTAGE 2025 10,500 + 10,500 + 10,500 + 10,500 + on social media channels on social media channels on social media channels on social media channels event engagement event engagement event engagement event engagement 03 03 03 03 full-house nights full-house nights full-house nights full-house nights 180 180 180 180 attendees attendees attendees attendees a minimalistic yet bold presentation The absurd stage - manzi exhibition space, turns into an interrogation room, a prison cell, and an execution ground where the audience, like the protagonists themselves, is locked up inside an enclosed yet bottomless box, where each ''𝑂𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑈𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑎 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒,…'' is a thrilling opening of another compartment/a discovery of a new truth. 3 3 3 3 coming up... coming up... coming up... coming up... more productions to be disclosed more productions to be disclosed more productions to be disclosed more productions to be disclosed 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗕𝗔 𝗖𝗞𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 - 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱) is a non-profit initiative curated by 𝗫𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗫 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼, supported by 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗶 and Manzi Art Space.
